It takes a village to raise a child
Hout Bay- a very special place located on Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard, attracts people from all walks of life. Famous for the beautiful scenery of mountains, valleys and beaches its only when you live here that you discover what makes it truly special.
Perhaps because there are only three roads into Hout Bay we are a community of communities. Kronendal Primary is the place where people from all different walks of life and from all over the world meet. We all learn from each other (yes even the parents!) and we truly understand the old Xhosa saying: It takes a village to raise a child
Established in 1901, Kronendal Primary is Hout Bay’s oldest community school. Today the school has over 300 students, with an average classsize of 26. A Kronendal student learns to understand and appreciate different cultures, uniquely preparing them for the real world. We believe in helping each student to identify and enhance their gifts. Kronendal has become respected as a feeder school for many of Cape Town’s top high schools. Many of our students have gone on to excel thanks to the grounding they received at Kronendal Primary.
Kronendal offers the best sporting facilities in Hout Bay and has a vibrant extramural program to give our students an all-round education. Our parent body is very involved in the school and as a result we have been able to keep school fees affordable without sacrificing infrastructure and quality of education.
We advise parents to apply for positions at the school with at least 1 years notice. Contact our school secretary Charmaine Bell secretary@kronendal.co.za or phone +27 21 7902060
